Nutella Index Guide

Learn how to navigate the interactive map, read the global ranking, and contribute your Nutella price data.

Interactive Map

The interactive map displays Nutella Index data on a world map. You can explore average prices by country, search for specific regions, and analyze data visually.

  • Tap a marker to see that country’s average price and number of observations
  • Use the country list to quickly jump to a specific country on the map
  • Below the map you'll find coverage stats and the full list of covered countries with links to their detail pages

Global Ranking

The global ranking sorts countries by average price normalized to EUR/100g, from most expensive to cheapest or the reverse. This allows a fair comparison regardless of package weight or local currency.

  • EUR/100g: standardized price to enable country comparisons
  • Observations: how many price observations sit behind each country's value
  • Latest update: most recent observation date from that country

Add a price

Found a price worth recording? Submit it with a photo as proof and help the dataset grow.

  • Select the country and city where you spotted the jar
  • Enter the price in local currency and the package weight
  • Upload a clear photo of the package as proof
  • Every contribution is reviewed by moderators before being added

Data & Methodology

Curious where the numbers come from? In Data & Methodology you'll find how prices are collected, converted, and reviewed — and where the data has limits.

Helpful Tips

  • Open a country's page to see every observation behind its price
  • Use the ranking to spot the cheapest — and priciest — countries
  • Remember that prices vary over time and by store: data is a snapshot in time
  • The more data you contribute, the more accurate the ranking becomes for your country
